A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
My name is Jackie Stalker, and If Stalks Could Talk has been founded out of a passion for flowers and the need to turn my creativity into my career...
I was born and raised on the Stalker family dairy, beef and sheep farm near Penrith. I moved to Newcastle for university, where I spent eighteen years, believing it would be my forever home. However, lockdown, remote working and family needs prompted me to re-evaluate my life. I departed from the North East and my NHS Service Delivery role and returned to my agricultural roots settling in North Cumbria, where I milk cows at a friend’s family farm.
Creativity has always been my aspiration, and now I'm dedicated to producing beautiful floral arrangements to make every If Stalks Could Talk event in Cumbria and the surrounding areas truly personal and memorable.
I trained at Tallulah Rose Flower School with Rachel in the stunning setting of Levens Hall near Kendal. Her school emphasises sustainable floral mechanics (not a block of floral foam in sight), using locally grown, seasonal British flowers and foliage, aligning perfectly with my vision and values.
I have converted a horsebox into a customised floral workspace which is used to create and transport my designs.
I will do everything to ensure that your 'If Stalks Could Talk' experience is creatively inspiring but calming. I want to design for those that share the sustainable, seasonal and locally grown ethos, and for those that love and appreciate the beauty of flowers.
